General Information

Krygma: Journal of Theology and Christian Education publishes original and scholarly works in the fields of theology and Christian education. Manuscripts submitted to the journal must be original, unpublished, and not under consideration by other journals.

Scope of Articles

Manuscripts should align with the journal’s focus and scope, including but not limited to:

  • Biblical Theology

  • Systematic and Practical Theology

  • Christian Education

  • Mission Studies and Missiology

  • Religious Moderation and Interfaith Relations

  • Public Theology

  • Christian Leadership and Ethics

Types of Manuscripts

The journal accepts the following types of manuscripts:

  • Research Articles

  • Conceptual or Theoretical Papers

  • Literature Review Articles

Manuscript Preparation

  • Language: English or Bahasa Indonesia

  • Length: 6,000–8,000 words, including references

  • File format: Microsoft Word (.doc/.docx)

  • Font: Times New Roman, 12 pt

  • Spacing: 1.5

  • Margins: 2.5 cm on all sides

Structure of Manuscript

Manuscripts should be organized as follows:

  1. Title

  2. Author(s) Name(s) (without academic titles)

  3. Institutional Affiliation and Email Address

  4. Abstract

  5. Keywords

  6. Introduction

  7. Research Methodology

  8. Results and Discussion

  9. Conclusion

  10. References

Abstract and Keywords (IMRAD Format)

  • Abstract must be written in English and Bahasa Indonesia

  • Length: 150–250 words

  • The abstract must follow the IMRAD structure, briefly containing:

    • Introduction (background and research problem)

    • Methods (research design and approach)

    • Results (main findings)

    • Discussion (interpretation and contribution)

  • Keywords consist of 3–5 relevant terms

Citation and References

  • Authors must use a consistent citation style throughout the manuscript

  • Recommended style: Chicago Manual of Style – Notes and Bibliography

  • All cited sources must appear in the reference list

  • References should prioritize peer-reviewed journals, academic books, and other credible scholarly sources

Ethical Considerations

  • Manuscripts must be original and free from plagiarism

  • All submissions are subject to plagiarism screening

  • The maximum acceptable similarity index is 25%

  • Research involving human participants must comply with applicable ethical research standards

Submission Process

  • Manuscripts must be submitted through the journal’s online submission system (OJS)

  • Authors must complete all required metadata accurately and completely

Peer Review Process

Krygma applies a single-blind peer review system. Reviewer identities are concealed, while author identities are known to reviewers. Each manuscript is reviewed by at least two qualified reviewers. Editorial decisions include:

  • Accept

  • Minor Revision

  • Major Revision

  • Reject

Publication Frequency

The journal is published twice a year, in April and October.
