PUBLICATION PROCESS

Publication Process

Krygma: Journal of Theology and Christian Education follows a transparent, fair, and ethical publication process in accordance with the principles of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE). The journal ensures that all submitted manuscripts are handled professionally and objectively at every stage of the editorial workflow.

1. Manuscript Submission

Authors submit manuscripts through the journal’s online submission system. Submissions must comply with the journal’s author guidelines and ethical standards. All manuscripts must be original, unpublished, and not under consideration by other journals.

2. Initial Editorial Screening

The editorial team conducts an initial screening to assess the manuscript’s relevance to the journal’s focus and scope, originality, academic quality, and compliance with ethical and technical requirements. Manuscripts that do not meet these criteria may be rejected without external review.

3. Plagiarism Check

All manuscripts undergo plagiarism screening using appropriate detection tools. Manuscripts that fail to meet the journal’s originality standards will be rejected or returned to the authors for clarification or revision.

4. Peer Review Process

Manuscripts that pass the initial screening are reviewed through a double-blind peer review process, in which both authors’ and reviewers’ identities are concealed. At least two independent reviewers with relevant expertise are appointed to evaluate the manuscript’s quality, methodology, originality, and contribution to the field.

5. Editorial Decision

Based on reviewers’ recommendations, the editor makes one of the following decisions: accept, accept with minor revisions, revise and resubmit, or reject. Authors are informed of the decision along with reviewers’ comments in a timely manner.

6. Revision and Resubmission

Authors are required to revise their manuscripts in accordance with the reviewers’ and editors’ comments. Revised manuscripts must be accompanied by a response to reviewers explaining how each comment has been addressed.

7. Final Acceptance

Once the revised manuscript meets the journal’s academic and ethical standards, the editor issues a final acceptance decision. Accepted manuscripts proceed to the production stage.

8. Copyediting and Proofreading

Accepted manuscripts undergo copyediting and proofreading to ensure clarity, consistency, and adherence to the journal’s style. Authors are given the opportunity to review proofs before publication.

9. Publication

Finalized articles are published online in accordance with the journal’s publication schedule. Krygma is published twice a year, in April and October.
